Our story

A house born from the Way, sharing and a life project

At Les Chambres d'Athela, hospitality is not a formula: it is a way of opening the door, putting down the bag, taking care of arrivals and letting calm do its work.

The starting point

Chloe, the Way under her skin

To understand the soul of the house, you have to go back to Haute-Loire, to Saugues. Chloe was born on the Way of Saint James and saw it live through the seasons: early departures, bags put down, tired faces and encounters that stay.

This memory of hospitality, of the stopover and of care given to travellers naturally accompanies the Athela project.

2024

From Le Puy-en-Velay to Conques

An important first walk, with its landscapes, effort and the sense that the Way transforms those who leave as much as those who welcome.

2025

From Conques to Roncesvalles

A new, longer and deeper stage, confirming the wish to create a place where people can catch their breath.

Today

Welcome to Castet-Arrouy

At Athela, the spirit stays simple: welcome with care, offer a quiet setting and let everyone leave lighter.

A shared project

Bringing the Way home, while welcoming curious visitors to the Gers

The house welcomes pilgrims, but not only pilgrims. Couples, holidaymakers, nature lovers and visitors to Lectoure also find a quiet, human and easy-going address here.

The common thread is the same for everyone: a direct welcome, a comfortable room, outdoor spaces, homemade dinner when reserved, and the chance to discover the region at your own rhythm.

Welcoming simply

Being present, answering clearly, helping organise arrivals and keeping a human relationship without unnecessary staging.

Letting people breathe

The garden, veranda, woodland and shaded corners are there so the stay is not just a night, but a true pause.

Sharing when possible

Dinner is prepared in advance so the meal remains pleasant, generous and adapted to everyone’s needs.
